This medication eliminates heartworm larvae dirofilaria immitis in the tissue stage providing 30 days of protection following infection. Dogs can be dosed with iverhart plus flavored chewables whole for swallowing or they may be chewed. All dogs should be tested for heartworm infection before starting a preventive program. Iverhart plus flavored chewables ivermectin pyrantel are used in the prevention of canine heartworm disease.
